HARMONIOUS BLACKSMITH DUO
Harpsichordist Joseph Gascho and recorder virtuoso Justin Godoy present a recital of solo and chamber works from the 17th and 18th centuries. Improvisations will complete a program of works by J.S. Bach, Matthew Locke, and others.
Harmonious Blacksmith combines the best of creative conceptual programming with the fire of virtuoso performing and improvising. Uniquely focused on the connection between composition and improvisation in Renaissance and Baroque music, Harmonious Blacksmith looks back to the age-old practices of improvising dance music and ornamenting songs.
The 09-10 series concerts will take place in the breathtaking Engineers Club at the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion at 11 W. Mt. Vernon Place.
Single-concert tickets are $20/$15 seniors/$5 students.
