Dan Breen and John Berndt (Duo)

Two Baltimore improvisors who are polymath multi-instrumentalists capable of severe conceptual and stylistic decompression make it up in the moment or even just the moment before. Breen and Berndt have been playing in various formations together (including Second Nature orchestra and The Baltimore Afrobeat Society) together since the late 90's, and have individually been extraordinarily active in the development of Baltimore's improvised/weird music scene. Neither seems to want music to be "a thing" in the final analysis. Breen is well known for his off-kilter work with Leprachaun Catering and Snacks; Berndt as the founder of High Zero and various local experimental mainstays including The Multiphonic Choir, Thus, and Geodesic Gnome.

In 2004 they had a major tour of Italy as a duo where they played a large amount of great music and collaborating with an amazing crew of Italian improvisers in many cities. This show will be their first duo reunion in quite some time and given their violently non-reductionist natures, its likely to be both unpredictable and full of life.

"Safe Creations"

Ken has been involved in music since the age of 7, playing the piano and then a church organ. He began writing music on a toy piano, and later sold his baby grand for a portable organ to start a band called Captain Felix at age 15. Three years later found Ken with a 3-piece Capt. Felix, playing ELP and many instrumental originals that he wrote on his Lowrey organ.

Experimental music began with a group known as Elixir, blending fusion jazz with Ken's original keyboard style. He began selling this music on cassette tape in the mid-seventies, and later found himself promoting and recording the Group Tape Project for Jim Finch's I.E.M.A., keeping in touch with other experimenting EM musicians through snail mail, underground newsletters, and by trading his music with others who were trying different things with synthesizers. In 1979, he and Stuart Rosenzweig recorded three albums for his own Anvil Creations label.

By the age of 20, Ken began playing the drums, and his passion for percussion is evident even in the early 1981 cassette release, "To Come Into Being". Later in the eighties, Ken and Wayne Myers re-defined progressive music as Moore/Myers, releasing two cassette albums, later available on CD through Auricle Music in the U.K.. Other bands include Kameleon (aka, Runner), with Wayne (playing keyboards here), Elastic Collision (with Frank Ashley, Jr.), A Voice in the Wilderness (Christian rock, playing as a drummer), briefly with Faceless (hard rock), and Sound Doctrine (aka, Forever Bronze) with Aaron Wilson, in Ohio. After leaving Baltimore in 2003, the underground music scene began to develop there, as Ken played sixties music on hand drums with guitarist, Dick Cooper in America's Heartland. Now, with Ken's having re-established contact with his colleague of nearly 30 years, Dave Vosh, he finds himself experimenting again, this time with cymbals and gongs. Albums are available as downloads on Bandcamp.com/Moore_Myers.Dave Vosh, born in washington.d.c., has been experimenting with electronic music since the 1970s and live performance since 2005 in various solo, duo and trio projects involving modular synthesizers and other devices. he performs regularly in d.c. and baltimore. he has performed at events such as "sonic circuits", "electronica-fest" and "electro-music" festivals. He was recently a featured performer in St. Louis at a show sponsored by the HEARding Cats Collective at Floating Labs, where he also displayed his visual electronic manipulations.
