Eastern Edge Brass

The Eastern Edge Brass Quintet, founded in 2010, is a well established group based out of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. With their unique and well blended sound, the group regularly performs a wide variety of music at Peabody as well as neighboring communities extending along the east coast. Eastern Edge is regularly coached by Joe Burgstaller, former trumpet player of the Canadian Brass and Co-leader of the Burgstaller-Martignon 4. In addition to Mr. Burgstaller, Eastern Edge has also been under the instruction of Larry Williams, member of the Lyric Brass Quintet, and has performed in many masterclasses for those such as Phil Snedecor and the Army Brass Quintet.

The group is very involved with the Baltimore and neighboring communities, participating in outreach programs like mentoring students from City Neighbors High School, performing at My Sisters Place, retirement homes, and in benefit concerts for Tuned-In, an organization that raises money to buy instruments for the inner city kids of Baltimore. During the year Eastern Edge Brass is the Ensemble in Residence at Old Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Baltimore under Music Director Douglas Buchanan.
