benefit concert for Sandy Hook School Fund of the United Way
Musicians of Mercy (MOM) is a collective of over seventy freelance musicians and artists based in the Metropolitan D.C. area. Founded and directed by violist Robin Fay Massie, the group was formed in January 2010 following Haitis devastating earthquake. MOM raises funds for humanitarian causes through the production of benefit concerts. All performers volunteer their time and talents in concerts that are free and open to the public. MOM showcases gifted solo performing artists, chamber ensembles, jazz combos, and a full orchestra.

ROBIN FAY MASSIE is a professional violist in the Baltimore/D.C. area. She completed her education in Viola Performance after attending the following schools: The University of Maryland, College Park (2003); New England Conservatory (2004); and The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University (2006).
Ms. Massie has cultivated a multi-faceted career as an orchestral violist, chamber musician, soloist, recording artist and private instructor. She has performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra among other major ensembles. She is Assistant Principal Viola with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra and Co-Principal Viola with the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra (Philadelphia). As a recording artist, she has appeared on episodes of VH1s Storytellers (2012) show featuring neo-soul artist Jill Scott and BETs Bobby Jones Gospel (2011) show featuring gospel artist Tye Tribbett. From summer to fall 2012, she performed backup strings for legendary recording artists including Earth, Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin, and Clay Aiken.

As an educator, Ms. Massie has taught viola on the collegiate level as a Guest Viola Professor at The University of Delaware, Newark, DE. Today, she maintains a private studio for area middle and high school students. She resides in Columbia, MD.
